Badge sponsor: Desiree Alliance

Many thanks to Desiree Alliance for stepping up to be our badge sponsor. This means their logo will appear on the nifty little name badges everyone will get, and their monetary contribution will pay for said badges.

Desiree Alliance

Also, Desiree Alliance is hosting their third annual conference this summer (July 16-20). The theme is “Pulling Back the Sheets: Sex, Work, and Social Justice.” Check it out!

Sex 2.0 condoms!

Many thanks to the fabulous Condomania for giving us a discount on these *official* Sex 2.0 condoms. We appreciate the support!

Sex 2.0 condoms

March 18, 2008

Rusty says I should make a video demonstrating how to turn a Sex 2.0 condom into a Sex 2.0 dental dam. I agree, because the last thing I would want is for Sex 2.0 to be perceived as phallocentric or heteronormative. So tomorrow maybe we’ll fire up the video camera.

Local folks, if you want some condoms to distribute around town, just let me know. We have a limited supply, and I definitely want to take some to Aphrodite’s Toybox and have plenty left over for the day of the conference; but if there’s a club or something that you think would be appropriate for promotion via condom, just let me know!

New sponsor: Inserection

We are happy to announce that Inserection, an Atlanta-based chain of adult stores, has signed on as a sponsor of Sex 2.0.

Inserection

From their web site:

Inserection Adult Fantasy Stores are the southeast’s leader in upscale adult retail stores. Inserection operates 16 stores in the states of Georgia, South Carolina and Florida.

Inserection has been delivering its upscale adult retail method to America since 1995 and has revolutionized the adult retail market by raising the standards through strong management, product knowledge training for their retail staff and more. We strive to create a well lit friendly shopping environment that appeals to men, women and couples alike. An approach which allows Inserection to provide its customers with an inviting, comfortable environment visiting our stores.

Inserection will be vending at the conference as well. Be sure to check them out!

April 12th Flesh and Fetish Ball: discounted admission for Sex 2.0 participants

For those of you who aren’t high-tailing it out of Atlanta at the crack of 5pm, consider coming to the Flesh and Fetish Ball at 1763 the night after Sex 2.0. Swinging Atlanta is offering discounted admission to Sex 2.0 participants: $35 for single guys, $25 for couples, and single ladies free as usual.

Check out this article to learn more about our new venue and the Flesh and Fetish Ball.

Help us think of categories for Sex 2.0 scholarships!

As some of you might know, I’ve recently started a job as a community manager for a new sex-centric social networking site, thePEEQ.com. The site is currently in beta, and we have a fancier, more community/user-generated content version in the works.

If you’ve checked out Sex20con.com lately (um, in like the last day or two) you might have noticed that the PEEQ is the platinum sponsor for Sex 2.0. This means that the PEEQ is giving up $500 for scholarships to help offset the cost of travel and lodging for people who need it. I thought instead of covering all (or most) expenses for one person, we should give $100 to five different people so we can spread the love.

So here’s where the fun part comes in - how should we determine who these five people are? What kind of qualifications should they meet? I was thinking that we could have different categories for scholarship… like a scholarship for lurkers, maybe one for newbie bloggers… what else? Suggestions are more than welcome.

Charis at Sex 2.0

We confirmed another sponsor and vendor yesterday: a local Atlanta feminist bookstore and community center, Charis Books and More, will be offering books for sale at Sex 2.0, including, of course, books by all the various authors that will be attending. If you’re an author and you’re planning to attend (and we don’t already know about it!), let us know so that Charis can have plenty of your books available for signings and sales.

And as a reminder, anyone who is interested in being a vendor should contact us as soon as possible.
